On Saturday, June 18th, 2022, the Disaster Air Response Team (DART) will be performing an international emergency response exercise. Participants are other counties & states, from Alaska to California, and Canada. This exercise will require 68 MFN volunteers to assist.
We need to fill 4 – 4 hour shifts (7 volunteers per shift ) at Bellingham International Airport (BLI) during this exercise.
What to expect:
Small planes will be landing and taking off throughout the day. These planes are carrying inbound and/or outbound food that will be delivered to outlying areas. These areas are theoretically “cut off” from normal food supplies, as this is a mock emergency drill.
Requirements to participate in the exercise:
• Training: MFN is arranging for training to help all volunteers to be aware of safe practices around planes.
• Register as a volunteer with MFN.
